Valerie: Compliment Necklaces

Hello all! Here is your Wednesday post as promised, and trying out a new blog look. Check out the new Etsy Mini box :)

I've been keeping myself really busy with a variety of craft projects, but what I want to highlight today are a few deliciously simple but eye catching necklaces that I've made recently. I was going to post about them eventually, but I wore one when I went to a large art fair this weekend and had people stalking me to compliment me on it. I figured that had to be a sign!

The best thing about these necklaces is that they're are so many options for customization. I can do any color (or colors!) of ribbon or metal. So far I've only used plain silver, but there are plenty of ideas floating around in my head for colors and patterns.

These are the two I made for myself:

Aaanndd ... Since summer has made a rapid departure, here's the festive autumn one that I made for the shop! It will be up a bit later tonight.

I'll have a few more pictures up when I post the necklace in the Etsy shop.

Have a great day!

Valerie

More Bracelets!

I just made a bracelet. I'm very excited about it. I got the pattern from Princess Lasertron's website, except I used knitting instead of ruffled felt. I'll take nicer pictures and post it on the Etsy shop once it's open, but I just couldn't wait to share it with you!

I took pictures of it sitting on my Indiana Jones hat because I was pressed for time. That leather strap isn't part of the bracelet.

I got the yarn from an estate sale for really cheap. I have a lot of it, and it's a fantastic color.

The purple one on the end is for the closure.

The buttons are all cloth: my mom has been collecting buttons and she gives me all the cloth ones because she doesn't like them. So, they're all vintage and used, which I really like.

Sorry for the fuzzy picture. I was rushing due to overexcitement. ^_^

I need to work on the green stitching on top of the ribbon. My next one will hopefully be a little cleaner. And the buttons should end up being different on every bracelet.

I have 2 more knitted up already in this color, and a bunch more of this ribbon. I want to keep making them in various colors, which should be fun.

What do you think?

Making bracelets

I started to make some bracelets to try and sell at a garage sale this week. I made a lot of them about two years ago, and was very successful in selling them. My mom took them to work and sold them to all of the nurses. They are easy to make, and the materials are affordable so I sold them for just 5 dollars a piece. Here is the one I made today.

They are just memory wire and glass beads!
